CanSat meeting 23.02.2018.

On Friday’s meeting we discussed about about the sensors, and we agreed in a work plan.

At the beginning of the meeting János Tölgyesi introduced us sensors, which are suitable for smoke detection and for sensing vibrations. One of them was the MAX30105 optical smoke detection sensors, for which there are ready algorithms for smoke detection and for pulse oximetry purpose available, but there is no ready algorithm to measure particle concentration.

The vibration sensor operates based on a piezoelectric principle. Maybe it would be possible with this to measure the (velocity of) climb of the rocket, and the collision of bigger (airborne) particles.

The deployment of the CanSat is going to be on the Azores Islands on 27th June. The team adumbrated the schedule. Based on this the first prototype should be ready by the beginning of April, and the ready version should be ready in May. Afterwards until the launch campaign testing and programming would have the main role, and the ground station will be made.

Based on the above the responsibilities are the following:
Tomka Benedek………………programming, electronics
Dessewffy Domonkos……electronic design and implementation
Illyés András……………………management, mechanical design
Cseh Domonkos……………..kommunication (webpage facebook)

ESA judges the teams based on the following considerations:
– teamwork
– capturing of telemetry data
– presentation of telemetry data on the day after the flight
– outreach programme, educational value
– documentation
– the secondary mission (tasks beyond the mandatory)

The following meeting is going to be on 9th March.
